Honor Band Auditions

The music assigned for honor band auditions is usually released in middle to late May, before Summer break starts. Participation is required for students in the Tri-M Music Honor Society and optional (but encouraged!) for the other students freshman to senior. Many students choose to challenge themselves and practice their region music through the summer and fall. Those auditions start in October, so don't delay in practicing and asking for help if you need it.

Honor Band and Orchestra is not just for Juniors and Seniors! We have had freshman students earn a spot in a high level honor band. Many students choose to challenge themselves and audition for Honor Band or Honor Orchestra. Please encourage your student to look at the music posted in the google Classroom.

Honor Band audition recordings are typically due starting in October, and most of the honor bands use the same selection of music. There are a variety of Honor Bands and Orchestras in our area - Combined League, CU Honor Band, NOCO Honor Band, CSU Honor Band, and AllState Honor Band and AllState Orchestra.

There will be a set requirement for recording with the different instruments, and the deadline to submit is usually strict with a 5pm deadline. Please visit with Mr. Krogstad about both the music and the recording deadlines.
